Great American Loop on Long Recess

We are about to embark on a series of day trips on our 2019 27 foot Ranger Tug, Long Recess! We hope that in total that these day trips will add up to completion of the Great American Loop, a more than 5,250 mile journey that will take us from our marina in Ripley, Ohio around the eastern U.S., and into part of Canada. The route includes inland rivers, the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, the New York State Canals, the Canadian Canals, the Great Lakes, and back into the inland river system home. We anticipate that the trip will take us just over a year. They call us "Loopers". This travel blog also includes two other maps that give you a glimpse into our earlier adventures on Lake Erie and on our trip from Ripley to Pittsburgh. We plan to head out on our first day on the Great American Loop on Thursday, September 23, 2021!
