We left Fairport on Wednesday morning after a failed attempt to get Amazing Grains bread. This is something else we hope to do on our way back through Fairport, get bread from Amazing Grains bread company. We had 6 locks on the Erie Canal and then we had 3 locks on the Cayuga/Seneca Canal as we headed into the Finger Lakes. And it was a HOT HOT HUMID day. We were exhausted when we arrived. We just wanted a COLD shower and a COLD drink! So that's what we did. We got tied up on the wall at Seneca Falls and then headed to the shower and dinner. We wandered around town a little before heading back to the boat to fall into bed.

The next morning, we took a walk before breakfast and a shower. Then we headed to the Women's Rights Museum in town, the birthplace of the Women's Suffrage movement. It was an amazing history to read and unbelievable to realize that the fight for women's right to vote took so long! Not one of the women who signed the original declaration of intent for women to have the right to vote lived long enough to vote in an election. This is a must see stop in Seneca Falls.

Seneca Falls is also the town where the movie It's a Wonderful Life was filmed. There's a museum and a gift shop and the bridge where the angel saves Jimmy Stewart is labeled for people to visit. We didn't stay long enough to see it, because it was time to head down into Seneca Lake, our first Finger Lake of the trip!
