We spent a lovely weekend in Charleston, albeit windy and a bit chilly on Saturday. When we got into town on Friday afternoon, we tidied up the boats before heading off into town to grab a bite to eat and do a bit of exploring. We walked up and down King Street and settled on a recommendation from Kim Russo, AGLCA director. We ate at High Cotton in the bar during happy hour and enjoyed a burger and a shrimp role along with a few adult beverages. Then it was the first ice cream of the weekend, gelato and a cookie at a dessert shop across the street.

The next day, we headed back into town via foot to take in the Farmer's Market. We also found a restaurant by the name Hot Little Biscuit. It was a long wait and yummy! Then we met up with the crew of Sojourn and headed back to the market and then to Fort Sumter. We took the ferry across the river and enjoyed learning about the history of the fort and its role in the Civil War. Once back in Charleston, we headed to the City Market and then Hymans for a late lunch/early dinner. Then we headed back on the boat and enjoyed a quiet warm night, while the wind howled outside.

The next morning was warmer and less windy, just as the weather report had predicted. We walked to church for Palm Sunday and then stopped for a coffee before meeting Vickie and Jack for a historical carriage ride through old town along the water. We had a great guide and very capable horse. Then Tony and I roamed through the streets, winding our way back to the marina to do some laundry. That evening we went to the Charleston Riverdogs minor league baseball game. The sun was warm and the dogs were cheap, but the beer was expensive, but it did come with a souvenir cup!

We were off to Georgetown the next morning at first light!
