After three nights in Ottawa, we decided to start our journey on the Rideau Canal. Along the way, we waited for a lift bridge, passed through four locks, and enjoyed the scenery of homes, wilderness, and blue skies. We saw other boats tied up on the lock walls for the night, but decided to go onto Hurst Marina where we would meet the Tinn. Just two miles before reaching the marina, we spotted two boaters eyeing our boat, so we stopped to talk to them and invited them to stop by the marina later that night to see the inside of the boat. We arrived at Hursts, did a few chores, including laundry, and then got in the pool and hot tub before getting a shower and preparing for dinner. Hubert and Lisbeth came to our boat for wine and snacks, and soon after the couple that we'd met on the water stopped by for a tour and then joined us for dinner. Tony gave them the grand tour of boat before dinner. We had a nice evening.
