We cruised through West Palm Beach on Thursday and ended up in North Palm Beach at Safe Harbor Old Port Cove Marina. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and a passcode to free wifi, nice showers, and great workout and laundry facilities. We'd never been given a free bottle of wine before at a marina! We promptly got to work washing the exterior of the boat and then chatted with David, a neighbor across the dock about places to dine. We picked the restaurant at the marina, Belle's. We walked the dock and found Tiger Wood's boat, Privacy, among other large and small boats, mostly large.

The next day, Friday, we took an Uber into West Palm Beach to tour the Flagler Museum and learned about the history of Florida's economic development. We had a picnic lunch in the palm forest behind the house and then walked to the Breakers Hotel nearby. Wow! What a spectacular place to wander through! We also enjoyed a drink at the Seafood Bar, along with shrimp cocktail. We later met Greg and Ruthie Hawk for dinner at Belle's. They drove from Pine Island, Florida to visit us.

The next day, we all went to the West Palm Beach Farmer's Market. They sold all sorts of things including puzzles, clothes, jewelry, colored glass, baseball cards, plants and your usual farmer's market fruits and vegetables, and food such as cider donuts, creamsicle smoothies and hamburgers. We had brunch nearby at Bradley's. Greg and Ruthie gave us a bottle of wine, a hug, and headed back to Pine Island. We headed back to the boat to do some trip planning for the upcoming week. Tony decided to get a haircut before heading to the grocery store and Limoncello, a local Italian restaurant and recommendation from David, for dinner.

On Sunday, we tried another recommendation from David, Farm to Table at the North Palm Beach Country Club across the street. We had a late lunch and then enjoyed sitting by the pool at the country club. Both on the way to and from the country club, we had to wait for the drawbridge to lift and lower for a boat to pass under along the ICW. When we returned to the marina, we met David and his wife Robin in their car. They were kind enough to provide us a ride to Ace Hardware to get some hardware that Tony needed for a boat project. We then shared a bottle of wine and some snack, along with a few stories on the back of David's boat.

Along the Loop, we have felt so grateful for the kindness of strangers and for strangers who become friends, if even for a night.

We'll be up in the morning to continue our journey north, first stopping in Jupiter at Tiger Woods' restaurant called Woods, and then cruising through Stuart and then onto Fort Pierce.
