We arrived at Palafox Marina mid-afternoon. We were greeted by the long bridge connecting Pensacola, big ships in the yard, and the Pensacola skyline. We promptly tied up, hooked up our electric, and set out to explore Pensacola. We promptly found a beautiful sunset right at our marina slip. Then we found the great big town/little city of Pensacola just a short few blocks north. There are painted pelicans at nearly every corner starting with right outside the Palafox marina. Karen was intent on finding all of them! We found quite a few, include painted pelicans that honored all military branches, including the Coast Guard. We'd hoped to tour the Naval Aviation Museum, but security restrictions at the base prevented us from being able to do so. Instead, we explored more of Pensacola. We found lots of art, on the streets and surrounding buildings, as well as inside of the little shops. We were lucky enough to be here on Friday evening during a gallery hop when streets are closed and shops are open late and vendors set up along the streets. It was a party-like atmosphere!
