We have crossed the Gulf of Mexico! We have completed the first leg of three in our journey from the Gulf Intracoastal Waterways to the west coast of Florida's Intracoastal Waterway. It was a nice crossing, with near perfect weather conditions. The seas calmed more and more the further we went out. There was a mixture of sun and clouds. We left on the heals of 16 other boats crossing the same day. We were reassured by some of the boat names - It'll Be Alright, It's OK 2, and No Worries. Around 10am, we had dolphins jumping in our wake. We took this as another good omen! We crossed with our friends Diane and Henry on Dee Dee, too. We arrived in the quaint fishing town of Steinhatchee in time to get some fuel, start the line up of looper boats along the dock, and walk to a fish restaurant down the street. We stayed at Sea Hag Marina for 2 nights, enjoying walks and catching up on some planning of upcoming marina stays. Nancy and Jim from Our Nauti Time shared champagne with the group to toast our successful crossing of the Gulf!
