We arrived at Washington Island in the early afternoon and promptly decided to rent the van for the day with Volare and RAMBLR. We set out about 2pm with an island map in our hands in the spider invested Scooby van and made the following stops -

  • Albatross Drive-In for a burger and an ice cream cone
  • The Stavkirke church built completely with tongue and groove owned and operated by Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church
  • The lavender farm
  • School House Beach where we built our own karin stone statue
  • Jackson Harbor Maritime Museum
  • The overlook in the park
  • Nelson's Bar where the guys drank a shot of bitters and joined the card carrying bitters club

We ended the day back at the marina with a bonfire with other marina guests. It was a great day exploring the small island!
