We traveled to Beaver Island with Volare and RAMBLR. We arrived mid-morning and reached out to Tim and Tricia from Tricia Ann. Tricia stopped by as we were having lunch. Tim arrived a few minutes later. They offered us the use of their car while we'd be on the island and invited us to visit them at their home. They provided us with a map and shared details on places to visit around the island. While on Beaver Island we enjoyed the car and our adventures, such as -

  • Hiking through the woods, over the foot bridge, and coming upon a sandy beach with rocks, starting our rock collecting adventures
  • Finding Poltar homestead and learning about his life
  • Visiting the lighthouse and the shipwreck museum
  • Eating dinner at the Lodge
  • Sharing fish with Tricia and Tim and grilling it over their fire pit and going for a walk around their property and neighborhood
  • Washing Tim and Tricia's car at the carwash before returning it to the ferry parking lot
  • Waving to Aunt Donna and Uncle Phil on the webcam outside the hardware store
  • Visiting the old jail location
  • Learning of the Book of Mormon connection with Beaver Island
  • SEEING THE NORTHERN LIGHTS with Vince and Pam around 11pm one night! The sky was streaked with green misty light. The night sky was filled with stars every night

Beaver Island proved to be a highlight of Lake Michigan. We ended up staying there for a few more night than we'd originally planned because of weather.
