The sunrise this morning was beautiful as we left the dock in Cannelton to head to Golconda. We promptly saw an eagle soaring overhead and later a young eagle and later still two more eagles flying over the boat and landing on adjacent tree branches. The landscape became more and more beautiful as we moved down river. Today was the most picturesque of all our days so far. Not much wind and a steady current that helped us throughout most of the day. We locked through 28' lower to the next pool on the river. Monarch butterflies continue to visit us throughout the day. We have continued to travel with our buddy boat, a couple from Louisville, who started their trip the same day we left Louisville. They will be with us for just a few more days before they turn around and head back home. Once we all got settled at the dock in the late afternoon, we walked into town and explored some of the sights. It didn't take us long! We're off to bed before heading out in the morning on our last few miles on the Ohio River! Cell reception is not the best in this area.
